The image of the truck on the postage stamp appeared in many newspapers and magazines as an icon of the Revolution in Romania in 1989. The truck, filled with cheering people waving the Romanian flag, looms up out of the mist, like a ship on the sea. Instead of large, historical paintings that often keep the memory of such moments alive, Laszlo recalls this moment on a stamp – by nature and format tied to small narratives, to descriptions and memories – which are traded between people in handwritten letters.
